Arborista Consulting

Listening to trees. Guiding people. Building better cities.

I've always been drawn to trees and the natural world, especially in a place as unlikely as New York City, where plants somehow insist on thriving.

Growing up in Middletown, New York, I spent my childhood exploring my backyard and the surrounding woods. I became fascinated with insects, snakes, the neighboring cows, and the small ecosystems around me — often flipping rocks and then flipping through books to identify whatever critter I had found that day.

Before becoming an arborist, I spent many years working in healthcare. During that time, I often found myself longing to be outside, caring for the natural world instead of being indoors. In 2013, I made the decision to transition into horticulture, and eventually discovered my passion for arboriculture.

My path as an arborist began 13 years ago with a curiosity about how trees live and adapt in cities — who is responsible for caring for them, and how. Over the past decade, that curiosity has grown into a professional practice grounded in science, careful observation, and respect for the long lives of the trees around us, and for the people who value them.

Today, through Arborista Consulting, I work with property owners, organizations, and project teams to help them understand, protect, and steward trees in complex urban environments. My work often involves evaluating tree health and risk, advising on construction impacts, and helping navigate the practical decisions required when trees and development intersect.

I am an ISA Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) professional, and a member of the American Society of Consulting Arborists. My approach is rooted in thoughtful analysis, clear communication, and long-term stewardship.

My goal is simple: help people make informed decisions so that trees and cities can coexist for generations to come. Above all, to listen to the trees.
